Riley was my Irish Wolf Hound/greyhound mix, my familiar and my son. I provide private hospice care in ppl's homes and for nearly 10 years Riley went to work everyday. He was very affectionate and attentive to my clients. He slept on the bed with some and was at the side of more than one when they passed away. He was a loving brother to my girls growing up. "RiReRo" was considered a cross dresser as he showed up wearing tutus & frilly lingerie more than once. Riley died of gastric dilatation 2 years ago as we were rushing him to the vet.We miss him everyday and I know my current clients are missing out on a true friend to the end.

I had a dog for 7 years. He was so good. He would actually pull me up in the morning when my arthritis was bad and I couldn't roll out of bed. He got hit by a van on the big road. I felt I let him down. He'd get lose from the house like a magician and he'd run. He was my only runner. Poor guy. One day before he died, I was in bed and he was standing above me on the bed and he was looking down on me and I remember saying to him that I'll never forget what his beautiful face looks like. Little did I know he would be gone soon. But here's the worst of it. I buried him and some days I wonder if he was really dead. Is that crazy? Maybe he was just really bad knocked out. The neighbors all checked him out and they said he was dead, but I still have my doubts somedays. How long I will live wondering if I shouldn't have just left him above ground for a while. No one will read this crap

I posted not too long ago about naming my kitten... well before I officially came up w/a name for him, he passed away. I noticed his body temperature was low and he was a bit lethargic, so we rushed him to the vet, but he didn't make it. R.I.P Bucket. I miss him.
