Ok,so I got my blood work test results. Here they are, I get an A+ LOL

This was a new doctor that I saw, and told her I'm a vegetarian (but I'm more 99% vegan) , but did not think of getting iron, or B12 numbers tested.. arghhhh ...(and she didn't either but I'm not too worried, I do take a daily multivitamin and Nutritional yeast on occasion and a calcium/Vitamin D supplement although I am in the Sun a lot so not worried about vit.D)...

All units are mg/DL and I was fasting.

    Basic Metabolic Panel
    Glucose, serum - 81
    BUN - 8
    Creatinine,serum - 0.9
    BUN/Creatinine ratio - 9
    Sodium, serum - 141
    Potassium, serum - 4.4
    Chloride, serum - 105
    Carbon Dioxide, Total - 25
    Calcium, serum - 9.1

    Lipid Panel
    Cholesterol, Total - 121
    Triglycerides - 62
    HDL Cholesterol - 46
    VLDL Cholesterol - 12
    LDL Cholesterol - 63

TSH - 0.588 (I've always seemed to have a low TSH number)

My HDL seems a bit low even though it's in the normal range, any ideas how to raise it?

    thanks
    Nuts and olive oil!

    HDL: 32
    LDL: 75
    A1c: 6.5%
    Sodium: 140
    Potassium: 4.5
    Calcium: 9.6
    Glucose: 115
Any thoughts? Do some levels seem too low or too high?

All looks pretty good to me, apart from your glucose which is a tiny bit out of the acceptable range but that is expected for a diabetic. Your doctor will probably tell you that your A1c result is "good for a diabetic" which it is, but if you want to reduce any damage to your organs at all, you should probably aim for about 5.5-6% which is more in line with the result a non-diabetic person would show. It's not a simple thing for a diabetic to achieve, but it can be done with perseverance - you should be able to achieve that by continuing with your vegan diet and increasing your exercise a little.

Fat vegan here for 21 years with a family history of high cholesterol.
    Total 264
    HDL 52
    LDL 175
    Triglycerides 232! WTHeck
My diet must improve and I could loose 40lbs, if I dont my doctor has threatened to put me on statins.

Being just vegan aint enough for good health, need the same good diet all should follow.

    Wish me luck.

BTW all vitamin and healthy blood was normal except calcium and D3 but these were not diet related but testosterone. Off to the endocrinologist, wish me more luck.

I wonder if I need vitamins. I think I'll stop by the pharmacy and have a chat.
